Easy care plants

I’m a huge fan of incorporating greenery into my spaces; cue HOUSE PLANTS!

There is no denying my love for them and I want to pass that love onto you! sometimes caring for our little green babes can be tricky business. So, I’ve decided to dedicate this blog post to share some of my plant knowledge so that you can keep your green gals thriving at home!

I’m sharing a few of my favorite easy care plants for first time plant moms/dads!

  1. Monstera:

With large beautifully split leaves, this plant is a show stopper. She doesn’t hog that precious window space like many others. Happy as can be in low/medium light conditions with little water. I give mine about 6 cups of water every 14 days for reference.

  2. Monstera adonsonii:

Her smaller Swiss cheese leaves are to die for. With the same care as her mother above, this monstera is better for smaller spaces since her leaves are much smaller.

  3. Silver satin pothos:

Soft silvery speckled leaves are so fun as they vine to the floor. Once again, a happy plant with low/medium light and water only when the leaves begin to curl inwards! Typically every 10-14 days.

4. Air plant:

These are the real MVP. No soil needed, I mean common! If you’re not already convinced, they are gorgeous on any shelf and only require a 20 min sink bath once/week. But make sure to let them dry upside down otherwise they may succumb to root rot.

5. Snake plant:

The perfect plant for a corner! With tall skinny snake-like leaves, this plant is a real winner and hard to kill! I’ve had the best luck giving this plant dry spells and only watering 2x/ month on average.

6. Stag horn fern:

Unlike other ferns that I’ve had a hard time with, this one is very hard to kill and BEAUTIFUL might I add. With her pale green horn-like fronds, she is one of my favs. I run her under the faucet every week for a few minutes (including the fronds). Medium light is perfect - she doesn’t like anything direct. Mine is happy in front of our north facing window.
